Huh, The Bad Bitch?
There has been a lot of talk about the name of our restaurant for years. It is of course a special name. It is actually a very old name, we are happy to explain it to you!
Where two streams of the former Lauwerszee and the Wadden Sea used to meet, southwest of the Brakzand, there was a channel 15-20 meters deep. This was a turbulent stretch of water, where a boat occasionally got into trouble. This area was popularly called "Het Booze Wijf" or "The evil woman". Sailors often used feminine designations for dangerous areas. In our logo you see the two sea currents coming together as a tribute to the history of the name.
Over ons
Restaurant Het Booze Wijf is the heart of Lauwersoog where everyone comes together: from local residents to (day) tourists and park guests. The restaurant is nautically and attractively decorated and has a large terrace with a view over the museum harbor and the Lauwersmeer. We are proud of our restaurant, our products and the additional services we offer. We work with honest products from our own Wadden region that have been selected with great care. There is always something to do for the little guests. Children love to play in our water playground, on the beach next to the terrace or in the attic in our indoor playground. We would be happy to tell you more about the restaurant, our products and additional services.

Dogs welcome
Your four-legged friend is very welcome at Het Booze Wijf! We always have a bowl of water ready, so that he/she also has something to drink. We would like to ask you to keep your dog on a leash and keep it at the table with you. We trust that any 'accidents' will be neatly cleaned up. This is to ensure that other guests are not inconvenienced.
Child friendly
Our little guests have also been taken into account. There is always something to do for our little guests. Children can play in our water playground, on the beach next to the terrace or in the attic in our indoor playground.
Honest products
We work with honest products from our own Wadden region that have been selected with great care.
In addition, we try to purchase as many products as possible that are: organic, fair trade or direct trade.
In this way we contribute to a better environment.
